WW1 Shelter Half w/Guy Line - Finally!  A beautiful reproduction of the standard issue shelter half.  These were issued one per soldier to be used as an individual shelter or ground sheet.  Two soldiers could join their halves to make a two man tent with one open end.  Four soldiers could join their halves to put up a four man tent which was closed on both ends.  An essential piece of doughboy gear, these were used from the early teens up to WW2 and are great for a WW2 Marine impression.  Our reproduction features all cotton construction with the correct khaki color.  Buttons are custom made, and feature the WW1 era "sunburst" pattern.  Each half comes with cotton rope foot stops, and a cotton guy line.

Hard Bread Tin - The staple ration for the American doughboy overseas.  Hard bread (or hard tack) was initially issued in cardboard boxes, but these did not hold up well in wet conditions and were also easily saturated by Gas.  The Quartermaster Corps designed this tin container which was soldered shut as a replacement.  Our reproduction is copied from an original sealed tin and features an un-soldered end cap so that you can keep reusing it.

This is a piece of the original contents of this tin.

mess_kits.jpg (37305 bytes) WW1 Mess Kits - AEF Supply is pleased to offer original WW1 mess kits to our customers.  These are all original WW1 manufacture (sorry no choice of dates) in good usable condition.  Condition varies but all are useable with no major defects.

A doughboy wearing a poncho examines a German shell hole.

WW1 Poncho - At long last, these were a pain to get manufactured.  The Army issue raingear for the pre and early WW1 period.  Supplanted by the raincoat since these interfered with putting on a gasmask.  Still used by doughboys as an all purpose ground sheet and rain cover.  This is my new improved version of the poncho made in the same rubberized material used for my WW1 raincoats and featuring the same quality repro buttons used on my shelter halves.

Note: Where appropriate I mark all of my gear with the stamp "AMC 1917".  AMC is my initials, and as far as I know was not used by any wartime companies.  Please notify us if you see any of our items being sold as originals, it has happened before and we make every effort to put a stop to it.
